Spain defender Eric Garcia has confirmed he will play for Barcelona in the new season. Garcia just completed a major mission, helping Spain win the 2024 Olympics gold medal with an extra-time win over hosts France 5-3.

The 23-year-old defender spent last season on loan at Girona. Where he played a key role in helping the team finish third in the league. And secure a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League, making 30 league appearances. UFABET

But as the new season begins, Garcia is certain he will be staying at the Catalan giants after holding talks with new manager Hansi Flick.

“I will stay at Barca and play this season, 100 percent for sure. And I have spoken to Flick and I will stay at Barca this season, 100 percent.”

“I will train with Barca on Sunday. I am looking forward to training with Flick. And I feel good about the messages we exchanged.” Garcia confirmed.

Garcia had initially agreed personal terms with Barca when Charles Tusquets was acting president. Before new president Joan Laporta changed the terms of the deal by asking for a 40% pay cut from the original deal. As the club struggled financially, and the player readily agreed to the new terms.
